Title: Motivic aspects of K3 surfaces

Abstract:

The Global Torelli theorem, proved in the 70s, is the most important
single result in the theory of K3 surfaces: Morally, K3 surface geometry
is controlled by cohomology. However, natural variations of the setup
lead to problems that go beyond classical geometry and require the
language of motives and derived categories. We will discuss some
of these aspects and highlight open questions.
