Available full-time faculty positions are advertised at the American Mathematical Society’s Mathjobs.Org site. When positions are available, interested applicants must also visit and apply to the Columbia University Academic Search & Recruiting (ASR) website to be considered.
The review process typically begins in early or mid-December for appointments beginning the next academic year on July 1.
- Joseph F. Ritt Assistant Professorships (must apply in both locations)
- Postdoctoral Research Scientist (mathematical foundations of quantitative biology)
Occasionally the Department may have an instructional need that is best filled by adjunct teaching. To be considered for an adjunct position, submit the brief online form and subscribe to the Department’s adjunct position mailing list to be notified when such a need arises:
- If you no longer wish to be considered for adjunct positions, you may unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by visiting the list and selecting the “unsubscribe” option.
Disclaimers: Potential instructors must be local to New York City and able to teach in person for the entire duration of an academic term; the department does not offer online or hybrid instruction. There is no guarantee that adjunct positions will be available in any given term or academic year, nor does submission of the form guarantee that the department will contact you.
