From June 4-8 the mathematics department will host a conference on Probability, Control and Finance, in honor of mathematics faculty member and chair Ioannis Karatzas.
Math department faculty member Robert Lipshitz has been awarded a Career grant by the National Science Foundation.
The Spring Samuel Eilenberg Lectures begin January 24th. Prof. Edward Frenkel, of UC Berkeley, will deliver the lectures for the Spring 2012 semester.
