Prerequisite: MATH W4041: Introduction to Modern Algebra.

This semester we will cover most of chapters 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. We may also cover parts of chapters 7, 8, 9 if time permits.
Exams: There will be two exams (25 points each) and a final (50 points).

Homework: Homework will be assigned throughout the semester, and may optionally be handed in for comments. I will also organize study sessions throughout the semester, and I welcome groups of students approaching me to schedule such sessions.


Office Hours: My office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm, in my office, 426 Mathematics. I will often be around at other times in the afternoon; stop by, or check by email or phone.
