(Informal) Low-dimensional Topology seminar.

We will discuss classic topics in geometry and topology (especially in low-dimension) which are of interest to a broad audience. The seminar meets on Mondays at 4:30PM in Mathematics 528 (roughly) every other week.

Fall 2026 talks:

  • (09/21) Francesco Lin - The Thurston norm of three-manifolds.
  • (10/05) Sergey Nersisyan - Signature zero four-manifolds bound (after Kirby).
  • (10/19) Umut Varolgunes - Displaceability in symplectic topology.
Send me an email (flin-at-math.columbia.edu) if you want to be added to the mailing list.
