JOSEPH FELS RITT LECTURES

Alex Lubotzky

Property 'tau' in Geometry, Combinatorics, Group Theory and Automorphic Forms

The first lecture will be dedicated to presenting property 'tau'
(which is a variant of Kazhdan property T from representation
theory) and its applications in graph theory, communication networks
and computational group theory.

In the second lecture, we will describe applications of property 'tau'
to hyperbolic manifolds and connections with automorphic forms.

The 2 lectures will be related but independent.
