The award was made based on the rules set up when the prize was created: a Special Advisory Board (Donaldson, Gabai, Gromov, Tao and Wiles) made a recommendation to the CMI Scientific Advisory Board (Carlson, Donaldson, Margulis, Melrose, Siu and Wiles) that was accepted.<\/p>\n<p>On June 8 and 9 Clay will host a conference to celebrate at the Institut Henri Poincare.<\/p>\n<p>The initial press release says nothing about the question many have been wondering about for years: who will get the million dollars?  Does all of it go to Perelman?
