It seems that someone at a local newspaper really wants to get my goat. At least one string theorist <a href=\"http:\/\/motls.blogspot.com\/2009\/04\/michael-atiyah-80th-birthday.html\">argues<\/a> for the new name for the index theorem, on the grounds that it is used in string theory.
