{"id":13947,"date":"2024-05-27T15:53:07","date_gmt":"2024-05-27T19:53:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.math.columbia.edu\/~woit\/wordpress\/?p=13947"},"modified":"2024-05-27T15:56:29","modified_gmt":"2024-05-27T19:56:29","slug":"wormholes-part-deux","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.math.columbia.edu\/~woit\/wordpress\/?p=13947","title":{"rendered":"Wormholes, Part Deux"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had thought that the universally negative reaction to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.math.columbia.edu\/~woit\/wordpress\/?cat=34\">fall 2022 wormhole publicity stunt<\/a> meant that we&#8217;d never hear more about this, with even the editors of Quanta magazine having understood that they&#8217;d been had.  While away on vacation though, I learned from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DulwichQuantum\/status\/1790657789599068193\">Dulwich Quantum Computing<\/a> that all the authors of the original stunt are back, now claiming not just wormhole teleportation, but <a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2405.07876\">Long-range wormhole teleportation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d also thought that no one at this point could possibly think it was a good idea to help these authors go to the public with their claims about creating wormholes in a lab.
