{"id":1320,"date":"2008-12-02T21:21:19","date_gmt":"2008-12-03T02:21:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.math.columbia.edu\/~woit\/wordpress\/?p=1320"},"modified":"2009-04-15T09:30:55","modified_gmt":"2009-04-15T14:30:55","slug":"brst-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.math.columbia.edu\/~woit\/wordpress\/?p=1320","title":{"rendered":"BRST News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I should finish writing the next installment of the Notes on BRST series soon, but thought I&#8217;d post here about two pieces of BRST-related news, concerning the &#8220;B&#8221; and the &#8220;T&#8221;.<\/p>\n<li>The &#8220;T&#8221; in BRST is I.V. Tyutin, whose Lebedev preprint N. 39 from 1975 is considered to be one of the first uses of what was later to become known as BRST symmetry.  This paper was never published and the preprint has not been widely available (in particular, I&#8217;ve never seen a copy of the original).  This evening one of the new preprints in the arXiv hep-th section is <a href=\"http:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/0812.0580\">a copy of the 1975 preprint<\/a>, making it now available on the web.<\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;B&#8221; in BRST is Carlo Becchi, who together with Camillo Imbimbo has written an article on BRST for Scholarpedia entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scholarpedia.org\/article\/Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin_symmetry\">Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin symmetry<\/a>.
