The lectures of <A href=\"http:\/\/nobelprize.org\/physics\/laureates\/2004\/gross-lecture.html\">David Gross<\/A> and <A href=\"http:\/\/nobelprize.org\/physics\/laureates\/2004\/wilczek-lecture.html\">Frank Wilczek<\/A> are available on-line, for some reason that of <A href=\"http:\/\/nobelprize.org\/physics\/laureates\/2004\/politzer-lecture.html\">David Politzer<\/A> isn&#8217;t, at least not yet.<\/p>\n<p>Over at Sean Carroll&#8217;s <A href=\"http:\/\/preposterousuniverse.blogspot.com\">Preposterous Universe<\/A> there&#8217;s a first-hand report about the lectures from Thomas Larsson (who often comments here). It&#8217;s in the comment section of this <A href=\"http:\/\/preposterousuniverse.blogspot.com\/2004_12_01_preposterousuniverse_archive.html#110260508784538942\">post<\/A>. One interesting detail from Politzer&#8217;s talk was that Coleman had originally assigned the beta-function calculation to Erick Weinberg (who is now my colleague at Columbia over in the physics department), but Erick already had enough material for his thesis and wanted to move on.<\/p>\n<p>Update: Politzer&#8217;s lecture is now available at his <A href=\"http:\/\/www.theory.caltech.edu\/people\/politzer\/\">web-site<\/A>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The winners of this year&#8217;s Nobel Prize in Physics gave their Nobel lectures in Stockholm on Wednesday.
