`Period integrals,
central critical L-values, and their local analogue'

Abstract: In this talk I will look at
several cases of current interest where one considers integral
of automorphic forms on subvarieties, andrelates it to certain
L-values. We will also look at the
local analogueof these notions which is the classical problem of
Branching Laws.
