Du Bois invariants and cdh cohomology

Steenbrink has defined du Bois invariants b<sup>p,q</sup> of
an isolated singularity as an approach to understanding when
the singularity is du Bois. We interpret these invariants in
terms of cdh cohomology, and in terms of the Grothendieck group
K<sub>0</sub> of X times a torus. We also generalize them to account for
K&auml;hler differentials.
