Abstract:

I will give examples of various methods for establishing the algebraicity of special values of L-functions (eg. the Riemann zeta function and Dirichlet characters at non-positive integers, the central value of L-functions of elliptic curves, general special values of automorphic L-functions) with an eye toward some recent results.
