Mr. Boris Mezhericher will give the talk on Friday, April 9 at noon in Math 417. This lecture will be open to all.
Abstract: The art of paper folding gives rise to many interesting problems in various areas of mathematics. One of them, geometric constructions, will be explored in this talk. Straight edge and compass constructions will be compared with origami constructions; arbitrary angles will be trisected and cubes will be doubled.
