Written Homework: Homework will be assigned up to weekly and will be due the following Tuesday. Late work will not be accepted. Collaboration on homework is encouraged as long as the work you hand in is your own. Please make homework neat (with staple), write your name clearly on the front, and carefully explain arguments.
Overview The main goal of the seminar is to help students learn how to read, understand, and present advanced mathematics. The next goal is to hopefully convince students that the study of knots is interesting. We will follow "The Knot Book" for the first few weeks and then move on to more advanced readings (eg, from "Knots and Links", "An Introduction to Knot Theory", or even modern research papers).
