General information

Welcome to the homepage of the Columbia Topology RTG!

The topology group at Columbia University has received an RTG grant, which aims to help mentor and train graduate students and post-docs in the rapidly-developing area of low-dimensional topology. Our focus includes hyperbolic geometry, geometrization, invariants for knots and three-manifolds, aspects of symplectic geometry, and smooth four-manifold topology. The RTG grant directly supports three postdoctoral associates, eight graduate students, and four to five undergraduates per year

During the summer, the RTG helps support a research program for undergraduate students. During the academic year, it supports a number of seminars and other activities.
