COMPUTE YOUR OWN MIDTERM GRADE

This is only a very rough indication of where your letter grade is heading, but you may find it helpful. No guarantees are made about the dependence of the final letter grade on the grade computed here.

Let A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6 be your point scores on Assignments 1-6. Let A = A1 + A2 + A3 + A4 + A5 + A6 be the total point score. Let P = 100 A/490 be the associated percentage. (It should also be possible to find this number on Courseworks.)

Let M be your point score on the midterm exam. Let D = (100 - P) + (70 - M) be the deficit from a perfect score of 170. Then a rough midterm letter grade may be determined as follows.

Range Grade
0 < D < 6 A+
6 < D < 16 A
16 < D < 32 A-
32 < D < 48 B+
48 < D < 64 B
64 < D < 80 B-
80 < D < 96 C+
96 < D < 112 C
112 < D < 128 C-
128 < D < 144 D
144 < D < 170 F
