We introduce twisted sectors for the chiral de Rham complex on
an orbifold as sheaves of (twisted) vertex algebra modules
supported along fixed-point sets. We show how this construction
can be used to recover various geometric invariants of the
orbifold, such as the Chen-Ruan orbifold cohomology and the
orbifold elliptic genus.
