The Chow groups of the Fulton-MacPherson configuration spaces -- Angela Gibney, February 6, 2004

Fulton and MacPherson discovered X[n], a natural compactification of the configuration space of n distinct labeled points on a nonsingular algebraic variety X. In their paper [Annals 139, 1994 p. 187-225], they define X[n] and, among other things, give presentations of their intersection rings. In this talk, following an introduction to the spaces X[n], I will give an explicit presentation of the Chow groups of the X[n] in terms of the Chow groups of X and the boundary divisors. This talk is about joint work between myself, L. Chen and D. Krashen.
