Mu-Tao  Wang

Mu-Tao Wang is a Professor of Mathematics at Columbia University. His research areas include differential geometry, partial differential equations, and general relativity. 

Mu-Tao Wang embarked on his academic journey at National Taiwan University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mathematics. In 1998, he completed his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Harvard University, under the guidance of Shing-Tung Yau. His doctoral thesis focused on generalized harmonic maps and representations of discrete groups. After obtaining his Ph.D., Wang joined the faculty of Stanford University as a Szëgo Assistant Professor. He subsequently moved to Columbia University in 2001, where he has held various positions, including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and currently, Professor of Mathematics.
