This web page was created and is maintained using the Markdown markup language and a few custom scripts. There are many alternative implementations, from which I chose to use Discount. On a Macintosh, Discount is most easily installed using Homebrew.
I edit a local copy of this web page on my computer, and update the server using a script. Because our server only offers sftp access, the update needs to be computed on my computer. This is accomplished by storing an inventory file on the server, and comparing it with a freshly computed local copy. (I wrote this script after standard tools failed to work properly for me.)
