Text:  James Stewart - Calculus, Early Transcendentals  (6th Edition)

Material Covered: Chapters 12, 13 and 14 + Appendix G.

Homework: The homework assignments and due dates are listed below. You must hand in the homework by 1 pm each Tuesday before class. There is a box for homework next to my office and the graded homework will be placed in a similar box nearby. Late homework will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Calculators: Calculators of any kind are not required for this course and won’t be allowed for the exams.

Midterm Exams.  The midterm  exams are on Thursday, February 21 and Thursday, March 27Makeups will not be given for the midterm exams. Students can be excused from the midterms only because of serious illness or a family emergency of comparable gravity. To be excused you will need a note from your doctor or dean.

Grading: The course grade is apportioned as follows: Final exam 40%; each midterm exam 20%; homework 20%.

Help: My office hours are 10:30-11:30 pm on TR. The help rooms 406 Mathematics and 333 Milbank are open with people to answer calculus questions all day long on weekdays.

Method of Study: Your work for every class should have five components:
    1. Read the appropriate section(s) of the book before coming to class.
